IP Options Straw poll: 1. just get the work done, and publish it freely - FOR: 5 Strongly Against: 1 2. file & abandon - this makes the prior art *much* more visible to the patent office - FOR: 12 Against: 0 3. Defensive Patent License - FOR: 7 Against: 3 (caveat is cost of this course of action)

Comparison to RCA founding and US Navy patent example. Would various groups try to buy up patents to kill the project. If we adopt a strategy to mess up the patents with Prior Art, that's the best outcome.

Will take the results of the straw poll which strongly point to option 2 to file and abandon and send an email to the general ccl-cheese list that unless someone strongly is against this, it will be the way to proceed. Will try and get a decision and action before the next meeting, with email going out tonight.

   Might need some subtitles "we're not even british" "we're not even vegans"
   - shouldnt call them little ladies, call them critters (look for alternate to critter perhaps)
   - Generally like the british accent

Need a better picture of mistreated cows if possible - for cow butts at 0:09 Any stats about cow mistreatment - how many dairy cows in US 260 million dairy cows Lactose intolerant. Subtitles at 13 seconds - Methane release causes global warming Geoff did spot of looking at cheese 40 seconds are cows male or female? 44 - Change to not be ladies - These bio factories this is ... 1:15 - might need a pic of DNA or rotating DNA 1:23 - 

   Need to decide on a crowdfunding platform.

Proposed goals for upcoming week:

  • Order first constructs
  • Put fundraising video up, and start spreading the word
  • Make list of all required reagents, tools and other consumables, including gBlocks and primers
  • Reach out to companies asking for donated reagents (and plasmids from DNA 2.0)
